The challenge? Virgin America’s rapid growth quickly led to the replacement of its initial flight operations system with Sabre’s CrewTrac, but the Sabre suit lacked a complete training management solution. Searching for a new training and qualifications management system to work with CrewTrac to eliminate the need for Sabre’s CrewQual system, Virgin America was drawn to ATMS for its innovative, best-in-class solution.

“ATMS simplifies training management, reduces errors, and avoids CrewQual’s complicated interface,” said Josh Britton, Virgin America’s Manager of AQP and Ground Training Systems. “We knew we needed a flexible system that would accommodate our growing operations.”

Another important criterion was the ability to interface with in-house systems. A CrewTrac interface was particularly important for Virgin America, as it would remove the manual entry of training results into CrewQual. Virgin America also expected to implement FAA’s AQP (Advanced Qualifications Program), so they sought out an fully integrated training system that would support the curriculum, grading, and reporting requirements of AQP. Today, ATMS has made it possible for Virgin America to achieve the AQP implementation.
